JSolr uses Apache's Solr server to index all kinds of data and search that data using powerful searching algorithms, resulting in more relevant results and ultimately more user satisfaction.

Notice JSolr returns results with both words in the article and articles with the word "Joomla" in the title towards the top, whereas the DB search returns a pretty arbitrary list of results. There are even some results at the bottom of the page that are more relevant than those at the top.

JSolr can provide different layouts depending on what you are searching for. Here we can see how JSolr lists each product with an associated price and thumbnail. Also notice the filter on the left-hand-side displaying result groupings (or facets) along with totals in each group.
